Hello my brothers and sisters!
Spring has sprung and there are TONS of garage sales around here. If you guys need anything out there, let me know. My wife and I can keep our eyes and ears open.
Also, if you need anything C.O.D'd from Walmart, my wife can shop for you and get it sent to you, just let us know what you'd like. Keep on keeping on out there!

ANYC...what to do afterwards?
Hello everyone. Brother Steve in Dillingham expressed 2 issues regarding keeping 3rd milers for Leadership Week and Fusion '08 after ANYC.
He doesn't want Isaac to stay for Leadership Week because:
1. The extra cost involved. He will not personally pay for Isaac to stay for leadership week. (It would cost about $200 to fly him back commercially.) He's the only 3rd miler that I know of from the Southwest.
2. Steve doesn't feel we should be showing the 3rd milers Alaska Christian College and Amundsen Education Center in Soldotna and AVTEC in Seward because they aren't Southern Baptist Institutions. That since these kids are going to camp via Southern Baptist dollars, we should introduce them to Wayland Baptist University instead.
Does anyone have any suggestions or comments they would like to post regarding these 2 concerns?
What would you like the 3rd milers to see/experience while they're here for leadership week?

Purpose/Direction of ANBF
It was stated by someone recently that maybe not all ANBF pastors and board members are "on the same page" in terms of the purpose, vision, and strategy of the ANBF...and that it's imperative to get that straightened out if we are to move forward as God leads us.
What are your thoughts on this?
How would you complete this sentence: The Alaska Native Baptist Fellowship exists to glorify God by.......(This statement should be short, consise, and easy to remember.)
Here's an example:
"Workers In The Harvest Alaska Ministries exists to glorify God by reaching Alaskans where they are, ministering to their needs, sharing the Great News of Jesus Christ, and providing life-changing discipleship opportunities."

Dwindling phase-down monies
As you may know, our Native ministries below are on a 10-year phase down (normally church plants are given a 5-year phase down but since ours are in the bush and relationship building takes a little longer, we were given an extra 5 years).
Ambler $7,200 5th year in phase down
Kiana $7,200 5th year in phase down
Kobuk $7,200 5th year in phase down
Togiak $8,640 5th year in phase down
Tok $1,440 5th year in phase down
King Salmon $1,800 5th year in phase down
Shungnak $8,400 4th year in phase down
These are the numbers I recently got from the ABC Executive Board Meeting on May 12th, which were recently voted "renewed".
Here are a few questions for you all:
1. How do you all feel about the phase down issue?
2. What can be done to keep these ministries operating?
3. What's our "Plan B" for the ministries that don't/can't find financial operating help?

Prayer Requests
Praise the Lord, barts. Let's try this blog thing out and see if it works for us. I created it to help us communicate, share information, encourage, pray for, and deal with issues facing us today. Figured the first one might as well be prayer requests since we are to be a praying fellowship ah?
Pray for Scott and Marybeth in Tok. They are resigning from their position and taking a pastorship in Nevada. I think they're leaving by 1st week of June. Call or email or use this blog to wish them blessings.
Pray for our injured-reserve pastors:
John Forrester: wounded knee
John Piepmeirer: healing broken arm
Steve McNeal: troubles with his hip replacement
Ramon DeLeon: recovering from a serious ailment
Pray for Harriet and Grace as they continue to grow in the Lord.
Pray for our youth!
Any other requests?
